Under this new system effective October 1st, Egyptian importers are required to declare full information about the goods to be shipped to Egypt before they are loaded from any exporting country.
Upon acceptance by Egyptian Authorities, a unique ACID Number will be issued for each ACI request (i.e.: for each shipment). The ACID Number will configure based on the shipment’s invoice, packing list, Certificate of Origin (COO), Bill of Lading (BOL), and/or any other supporting documentation.
CaroTrans will not export any shipments that are missing the ACID Number and our carrier/warehouse will not load any shipments that are missing the ACID Number. Upon container arrival in to an Egyptian Port, if the shipment gets rejected due to no or an incorrect ACID Number, the cargo will be returned to origin at the cargo owner’s cost.
Carriers are now required to include the ACID Number along with the TAX ID Number for the Egyptian Importer and a Registration Number or TAX ID Number for the Exporter – in transport documents (Manifest & Bill of Lading).
· ACID Number Must be shown on BOL & Manifest body/cargo description field or remarks
· Egyptian Importer VAT Number Mandatory to show on BOL shipper/consignee/notify field
· Exporter Registration Number or TAX ID Number Mandatory to show on BOL shipper/consignee/notify field
Exporters are required to download the commercial documents on the CARGOX platform before sending out any shipments to Egypt. In order to do that, your will need to register on the CARGOX platform to be able to download the documentation.
